Samarium Block Magnet

Samarium Cobalt (SmCo) block magnet is a rectangular or square-shaped magnet made from an alloy of samarium and cobalt, belonging to the family of rare-earth magnets. These magnets are renowned for their high magnetic strength, excellent temperature stability, and resistance to corrosion. SmCo block magnets are available in various sizes and grades, tailored to meet specific performance requirements in diverse applications. They have a variety of applications, including motors, generators, aerospace and manufacturing industries, as well as experimental research and engineering. Many of these applications depend on samarium cobalt magnets due to their large temperature range – from just above absolute zero (-273⁰C) up to 350⁰C. Care should be taken when assembling with SmCo due to its brittle nature (e.g. wear safety glasses). SmCo could break, chip, snap or possibly even shatter if mishandled.
