Ferrite Disc Magnet

Ceramic magnets (also known as “ferrite” magnets) are part of the permanent magnet family and are currently the lowest cost hard magnets.

The ceramic (ferrite) magnet composed of strontium carbonate and iron oxide has medium strength and can be used at quite high temperature. A ceramic or ferrite disc magnet is a type of permanent magnet made of ferrite, which is a ceramic material consisting primarily of iron oxide (Fe2O3) combined with small amounts of barium (Ba), strontium (Sr), or sometimes both. These magnets are characterized by their dark grey colour and are known for their good resistance to demagnetization, excellent corrosion resistance, and affordability.

Ferrite magnets are rust resistant, so you can use them outdoors. In addition, ferrite magnetic disks are characterized by their temperature resistance. They can be used at temperatures between -40 and 250°C.

Ferrite disc magnets have excellent corrosion resistance, and thanks to their high coercivity and low cost, Ferrite disc magnets are suitable for a wide variety of applications. They can be used in Reed switches, holding devices such as pot magnets, security systems, audio visual systems and in the office (notice boards).
